Emmanuel Taïeb is a member of the Institut Universitaire de France and Professor of Political Science at SciencesPo Lyon.
He works on violence and its visibility, especially on death penalty, in a historical and contemporary perspective. He also works on the concepts of “biopower” and “thanatopower” and policies of the body in general. His other field of research deals with the various forms of news in the public sphere such as propaganda, conspiracy theories and rumors.
Lately, he worked on political TV series. He keeps a blog of critics and reviews, and he presented a radio program on social sciences, « La Valeur de l’Homme » (“The Value of Man”) on RCF.
