Anna Knight is a French-English translator, subtitler, and copy editor specialising in art and film, with forays into sound and music, architecture, sociology, or politics. She holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Otago, New Zealand, in French Literature (with minors in Media Studies and Gender Studies) ; a master’s in Audio from L’ESAV, Toulouse ; and a post-graduate diploma in Legal and Economic Translation from Nanterre University, Paris.

She works with a range of museums, galleries, production companies, and publishers, notably the Centre Pompidou, Jeu de Paume, IAC, FIAC, FRAC Centre, Galerie Christophe Gaillard, Musée Saint-Étienne, Éditions Dilecta, Éditions Xavier Barral, mK2, Ciné-Tamaris, and the magazines 6 Mois, Le Cahiers d’Art, Revue, and La Belle Revue. She has translated album lyrics for the bands Aksak Maboul, Aquaserge, and Odezenne, and her subtitling credits include Mon Légionnaire (Rachel Lang, 2021), Braquer Poitiers (Claude Schmitz, 2018), and some episodes of Le Bureau des Légendes (Éric Rochant, 2015). Recently, she completed work on a monograph on Argentinian artist Julio Le Parc (publication pending) and a catalogue on the Robien Collection, Making Sense of the World, for the Musée des beaux-arts de Rennes, available here.
