Tuty Raihanah Mostarom



Tuty Raihanah Mostarom recently completed her PhD at King’s College London’s department of Theology and Religious Studies. Her thesis examined the roles of the secular state and both state-affiliated and non-state religious leaders in the construction of a local Muslim identity.

She has taught modules on Islam in Southeast Asia and religiously-motivated violence in the region in Singapore and France, including at Sciences Po Paris and the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS). She was previously an Associate Research Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore.

She co-authored “A Decade of Combating Radical Ideology: Learning from the Singapore Experience (2001-2010)” (2011) and conducted research with the Indonesia Desk at the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR).
