An anthropologist, Benoît Trépied is a research fellow at the CNRS (see his page) and the Centre de recherche et de documentation sur l’Océanie (CREDO, Marseille). He also participates in a European research program onScales of Governance and Indigenous Peoples (ERC-SOGIP, EHESS, Paris).
Benoît Trépied’s work focuses on New Caledonia, especially the colonial trajectory of this archipelago, as well as interracial relations and the current decolonization process.
He wrote Une mairie dans la France coloniale. Koné, Nouvelle-Calédonie (Karthala, coll. Recherches Internationales, Paris, 2010).
